BIOGRAPHY: Clarence was born on December 15, 1913, the son of Mr and Mrs William Thiesse of Ceylon, Minnesota. he trained at Ft Lewis, Washington, Camp Pickett, Virginia, and Ft Ord, California. Clarence left for overseas in the month of October, 1942. He participated in action in Algeria, French Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Southern France, and the Rhineland. His decorations include the Good Conduct Medal, Croix de Guerre w/Palm 1st French Army. He was a radio operator and an expert gunner. Clarence is buried in Lakeside Cemetary, Fairmont, Minnesota.
